Personal Care Attendant position available at Labrador Grenfell Health Care, providing high standard of care to patients in Long Term Care.

Job Description: The primary purpose of this position is to work as a member of a nursing team under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, providing a high standard of care to patients at the Long Term Care, in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides nursing care to patients
  • Responds to emergency situations and codes
  • Assists with the orientation of new staff
  • Documents according to organizational policies and unit guidelines
  • Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities
  • Transports clients and specimens

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from High School or equivalency
  • Successful completion from a recognized Personal Care Program of equivalent
  • Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • Breastfeeding education or willingness to complete within specified timeframe
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check

Compensation: CG-24 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $22.41 to $24.69 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance

Hours of Work: 75 hours Bi-weekly; Variable shifts
