Job Summary

Set-up Technician responsible for manufacturing parts and assemblies, meeting quality and performance standards, and troubleshooting equipment issues.

About the Role

A Set-up Technician is responsible for manufacturing parts and assemblies for shipment to customers, meeting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) measures for quality and performance. The technician must also troubleshoot and repair equipment within established guidelines to ensure that the equipment produces parts according to customer specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture parts and assemblies for shipment to customers
  • Meet OEE measures for quality and performance
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment within established guidelines
  • Ensure that equipment produces parts according to customer specification
  • Collaborate with production supervisor, cell leader, and quality control personnel on quality and safety concerns
Technician Responsibilities
  • Immediately troubleshoot problems to ensure timely and appropriate repair
  • Determine if a quick and effective repair is possible within established guidelines
  • Complete the repair work if a quick and effective repair is possible
  • Notify the supervisor if a quick and effective repair is not possible
General Responsibilities
  • Ensure that standard job procedures are understood and followed
  • Ensure that all environmental requirements are identified and addressed when performing duties
  • Ensure that all safety requirements are being carried out when performing duties
  • Provide support for defined Business Systems requirements
  • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within the company
  • Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work under general supervision with some judgment allowed
