About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team at Southbridge Kemptville LTC. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious and delicious meals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service: Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences, maintaining proper serving temperatures.
  • Food Preparation: Assist cooks in cleaning and preparing uncooked food, such as salads, vegetables, and fruits.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clear plates and trays, load and operate the dishwasher, and clean pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
  • Supply Management: Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environmental safety, and infection control.
  • Cart Assembly and Stocking: Assemble nourishment carts and stock unit kitchenettes.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in facility meetings and attend in-service education programs.
Requirements
  • Education: Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act.
  • Certifications: Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Experience: Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC Home (0-1 year).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, moderate to heavy lifting, and ability to read and write English.
  • Availability: Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
