Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in our expanded Emergency Department. As a Registered Nurse, Emergency - Specialty Qualified, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and families, and be part of a team that is dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered care.
Responsibilities:- Assess patients and collect information from a variety of sources to make informed nursing decisions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process for patients on admission.
- Coordinate nursing care for patients, set priorities, and delegate tasks to support staff.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, and patient/family responses.
- Participate in research and quality improvement activities to improve patient care.
- Act as a preceptor or mentor to new nursing staff and students.
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency nursing.
