Registered Nurse, Emergency Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse, Emergency to join our team at Burnaby Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care, assess patients, and develop care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing diagnoses and develop care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement care plans that meet their unique needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing education to patients and families.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as needed, and address changes in patient condition.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency nursing.
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessments, provide nursing care, and communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care, demonstrate empathy, and advocate for patients' rights and autonomy.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively and make informed decisions.
