Job Description:
Join our team as a Trades Worker I (General Maintenance) and contribute to the upkeep and repair of our facilities. As a key member of our infrastructure support team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting work in the building, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical trades' areas.
About the Role:
- Maintain and repair equipment, fixtures, and appliances in our facilities
- Perform general building and equipment maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, installing and repairing faucets, clearing drains, and repairing cabinets/shelves/tables
- Assist with snow clearing, lawn maintenance, and other outdoor tasks
- Assemble and install equipment, move furniture, and perform other related duties as required

Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NL Health Services) is a provincial health authority that brings together five former separate health entities. We are responsible for delivering health and community services to over 528,000 people living in Newfoundland and Labrador and employ over 21,000 people.
Job Demands:
- Constantly lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 11 lbs.
- Regularly requires physical effort using tools that require accurate control and steadiness
- Work is impacted by time pressures, interruptions, and lack of control over work pace
Job Qualifications:
- Certificate or recognized formal training program in the trades' area such as small engine repair or welding
- A minimum of one year of current experience in the repair/maintenance of equipment at the commercial/institutional level
- Training or certificates in WHMIS, Confined space, and Asbestos Abatement would be an asset
