Speech-Language Pathologist

Join Allied Therapy Ltd. as a Speech-Language Pathologist and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to clients with communication disorders.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and providing quality care to clients by evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and preventing communication disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, pragmatic disorders, social communication difficulties, and swallowing disorders across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer standardized and non-standardized assessments and observations to assess client abilities and create treatment plans.
- Select appropriate treatment approaches with data to support implementation and confer with other health professionals as needed.
- Develop individualized programs and provide therapeutic services based on the client's treatment plan.
- Teach and/or supervise strategies to clients and their families and respond to client inquiries regarding treatment plans.
- Maintain clinical and progress reports in electronic medical records.
- Provide occasional health promotion educational programming to raise awareness of best practices and Allied Therapy services.
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology or an equivalent.
- Registration and membership in good standing with NSCASLP.
- Full computer literacy and ability to learn new technology.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Demonstrated understanding and practice in providing evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of communication disorders.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
Clinic-based care in Halifax, community-based care in-home, at community locations, and virtually, with local travel required.
