Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rolling Mill Operator to join our team at Magna Exteriors. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our rolling mill equipment, maintaining high-quality products, and adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and prepare the rolling mill for operation, ensuring all safety checks are completed and recorded.
  • Operate and maintain rolling mill controls, tooling protection, and other equipment as required.
  • Monitor and record inspection results, SPC charts, and checking fixtures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and storing rolls, and making minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Assist in the development of standardization charts for changeovers and contribute to regular production when not involved in changeovers.
  • Communicate effectively with area leaders and work cell leaders to address any issues or problems that arise.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of rolling mill induction welding and ability to operate safely 10 to 40 ton cranes with appropriate slings or chains.
  • Valid forklift license and ability to operate 6000 lb. to 12000 lb. lift trucks.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work overtime when required and willingness to help out when necessary.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Crane certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS/GHS and ability to follow written set-up instructions.
