We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling building systems and maintenance activities, as well as overseeing minor construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the effective maintenance and operation of buildings, building systems, grounds, equipment, and hardware.
- Lead, supervise, and performance manage designated staff, including journeymen in various trades.
- Participate in the management of grievances and labour relations matters, including responding to 1st and 2nd step grievances and attending union/management meetings.
- Recruit staff through methods such as interviewing internal and external applicants and making hiring decisions.
- Participate in the development of the designated facilities operating budget and maintain responsibility for assigned budgets.
- Monitor the daily work activity of personnel within the assigned area to ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Coordinate and manage major and minor projects, including reviewing working plans, drawings, and specifications, and preparing preliminary cost estimates.
- Trades qualification as a journeyman in a relevant trade and/or appropriate Power Engineering certificate for the designated plant.
- Five to seven years recent, related experience, including a minimum of two years direct supervisory experience.
- Electrical Journeyman and FSR (Field Safety Representative) certification.
