We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Inspector Specialist to join our team at Irving Shipbuilding. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of welding quality and safety in our shipbuilding operations.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and maintain our visual inspection program, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and deliver training programs for visual inspections, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Conduct on-the-job audits of visual inspections to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Provide technical support and guidance to our QC/NDE inspectors, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and expertise to perform their duties effectively.
- Promote a culture of safety within our welding group, identifying and mitigating potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Red Seal in Welding or Technical Diploma in a relevant subject.
- ASNT Level III in Visual Inspection or willingness to work towards.
- ASNT Level II in Visual Inspection, other disciplines are desirable.
- CWB Level II Inspector.
- 5 years of experience in a Welding or Inspection role.
- Ability to deliver technical courses and communicate complex information in an accessible format.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage documentation and training records using MS Office software.
