Student opportunity in SOX and auditing team with hands-on experience in planning, execution, and continuous improvement of SOX compliance program and Internal Audit engagements.
About the Opportunity
- Assist in the timely execution of the annual SOX control testing program, including updating process documentation, performing control tests, and ensuring risks are mitigated.
- Conduct business risk assessments to prioritize key risks to achieving functional objectives and ensure proper governance, systems, and processes are in place.
- Develop and execute test procedures for controls, integrating both substantive and process controls testing.
- Identify financial control exceptions, facilitate remediation strategies, and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls.
- Provide assurance and advisory services to ensure that various functions operate within their objectives and mandates.

Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of the work term and able to produce documentation upon request.

Education
- Must be enrolled in a Business degree focused on Accounting, Commerce or Finance major at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
- Candidates currently enrolled in either a master's or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
