Summary: Design and create 3D models and 2D drawings for hydroelectric turbine projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer specifications and internal design standards.

Our team is responsible for creating and reviewing 3D models and 2D drawings, ensuring that designs are accurate, compliant with customer specifications, and meet internal design standards. We also create associated material lists and review them for errors. Additionally, we participate in continuous improvement activities and perform data entry into the material resource planning system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares 3D models and 2D drawings from references, sketch or based on instructions from engineer or senior designer;
  • Creates drawing associated material lists;
  • Reviews drawings and material list to check for errors, that they compliant with customer specifications and internal design standards;
  • Ensures that designs can be manufactured, are transportable and operational;
  • Proposes design improvement to reduce cost and improve quality;
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities;
  • Data entry into the material resource planning system;
  • Performs drawings revision;
  • Responsible for the execution time of his own work;
  • Participates in schedule updates;
  • Responsible for the quality and precision of his work.

Requirements:

  • College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience;
  • Good knowledge of heavy mechanical equipment, welded structures, methods of manufacturing and machining as well as drafting rules and practices;
  • Strong background in 3D design;
  • Autonomous; li>Teamwork skills;
  • Fluency in French & English;
  • Knowledge of Unigraphics NX8, Teamcenter and SAP an asset;
  • Knowledge of hydro turbine (turbine and generator) an asset.
