About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Visual Systems Manager to join our team at the Banff Gondola. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Nightrise experience, as well as the ongoing audio, video, and lighting needs of the Gondola.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain all technical equipment on the Upper Terminal Interpretive Floor, including interactive touchscreen displays, lighting, and sound.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish and manage an ongoing service agreement with Field Service.
  • Develop and maintain a clear command structure during operational hours with the operations and guest experience teams.
  • Manage and provide feedback to the special event team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional experiences.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety protocols are being adhered to as per AHS guidelines.
  • Collaborate with management on a capital plan for ongoing maintenance and replacement of equipment.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures and training documents.
  • Manage and maintain all sound, light, and video equipment owned by the Gondola, including organizing, storing, and maintaining equipment.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience with multimedia installations such as live shows, outdoor festivals, permanent installations, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems, including operating system installation, maintenance systems, diagnostic software, and hardware installation.
  • Knowledge of networking systems, including routing, sharing, network administration, IP, DNS, VPN, etc.
  • Knowledge of computer communication protocols and transport, including TCP/IP, UDP, OSC, LTC, MTC, etc.
  • Good knowledge of audio-visual distribution systems, including patch bays, video matrices, audio amplifiers, midi, sound controllers, DMX, etc.
  • Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on customer service.
  • Experience in LED video calibration and video projector calibration.
  • Strong understanding of lighting apparatus and lighting console programming experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of schematic drawings, install cabling, etc.
  • Ability to resolve set maintenance issues.
  • Experience in leading and delegating a team of colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven leadership skills.
