We are seeking a skilled Culinary Artist to join our team at Toridori, a downtown Halifax restaurant specializing in East Asian noodle creations. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that showcase our commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including pho, ramen, laksa, lo mein, curry, and small plates, to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Sous Chef, Chef, and General Manager to ensure seamless kitchen operations and achieve our culinary goals.
- Food Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe food preparation environment, adhering to our strict sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Assist in food inventory and control, ensuring that we have the necessary ingredients and supplies to meet our culinary demands.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by honoring guest special requests and maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Culinary Experience: 1-2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Culinary Education: Culinary diploma/degree is an asset.
- Professional Skills: Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Communication Skills: Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Physical Demands: Able to spend 100% of the time standing.
