ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting to the Project Director, the Sr Project Control Manager will be responsible in providing project control support to ongoing projects (Commercial and Residential) and supporting the company's estimating and construction teams to ensure that the company's project control system is properly implemented and utilized.
  • Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained
  • Oversee, review and analyze the project scheduling and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost and schedule.
  • Manage developing, establishing, and maintaining the company's project cost and control systems.
  • Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables.
  • Regularly conduct detailed analysis on project performance key metrics whilst proposing corrective actions to maintain performance/productivity; provide timely feedback to project leadership on adverse trends.
  • Develops, maintains, and drives the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team; ensures project milestones and completion dates are met
  • Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression.
  • Responsible for communicating, training and generally ensure full understanding by project staff of project controls processes and their applicable responsibilities.
  • Enforce and monitor the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WCB Alberta regulations to ensure a safe jobsite.
  • Provide feedback & guidance to direct reports for annual goal setting; support in the establishment of individual career development plans and in identifying training & professional development opportunities.
  • Manage efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and project baseline.
  • Review the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout.
  • Assist in resolving alignment issues within Project Controls disciplines (cost control, planning/scheduling, change management, risk management, reporting)
  • Assumes a leadership role and guides project team members to contribute to their development and career growth
  • Provide input on an ongoing basis for improvements/modifications to Shoreline's project controls policy & guidelines.
  • Participate in project-level resource planning, utilization analysis & resource leveling; manage & maintain Project Controls staffing plan forecasts.
  • Take full responsibility to ensure that all Municipal inspections, professional inspections, occupancy permits and possession dates have been achieved and in alignment with project schedule.

SUPERVISORY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of construction experience as a Project Manager or similar direct supervisory role on commercial or residential construction projects
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes
  • College and/or University degree in related field, OR applicable work experience
  • Applied knowledge of Project Management and Project Controls principles
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiar with project software
  • Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control.
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent resource, planning, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, people management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
