The Managed Solutions Group head office team located in Toronto is looking for a resourceful, efficient, and collaborative individual to join our leading wealth management firm as a Trade Execution Specialist.

By providing ongoing, exceptional service and support to our Advisor teams, you will help our team deepen existing relationships and provide Advisors and Associates with best practice concepts and strategies to assist them in making knowledgeable decisions. As an invaluable internal point of contact, you will play a key role in providing real-time advisor and associate support with bulk trading and fulfillment execution for discretionary and non-discretionary fee-based clients as a first point of contact.

What will you do?

Private Investment Management Trade Execution Support (40%) - Discretionary

  • Work with discretionary teams to provide guidance and support in portfolio modeling, trade list generation, and trade execution within corresponding trading applications.
  • Correspond with Trading Desks, Portfolio Management Consultants, Application Support teams, Operations teams, and escalate issues to proper channels.
  • Review the weekly bulk trade for violations and escalate to the Portfolio Risk Advisors when needed.
  • 95% of time will be spent on the phone and responding to emails.

A+ Trade Execution Support (40%) - Advisory and Discretionary

  • Work with A+ teams to provide support with trade execution using the online pricing tool and target allocation calculator (TAC), modeling, and change requests.
  • Correspond with Manages Solutions Group, Overlay Team, Operations, and application developers when needed, and escalate issues to proper channels.
  • 95% of time will be spend on the phone and responding to emails.

General Team Support (20%)

  • Proactive ongoing communication with management and the Portfolio Management Consultant (PMC) Team regarding the status of current project initiatives; obtain guidance and approval as required to advance initiatives.
  • Ad hoc projects and initiatives.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • A minimum of 3 years in the financial services industry, preferably with Dominion Securities, CFA Level 1 or CIM, or, strong and proven understanding of trading securities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (empathetic listener, coach, and negotiator), strong communication (oral and written) and customer service focus required.
  • Comfortable taking several calls, video conferences, and responding to daily emails in a timely manner.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and an ability to deal with multiple competing priorities.
  • Driven, eager to learn and thrives in a high-performance environment with ability to analyze, prioritize , adjust to multiple demands and with good problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on Excel.

Nice-to-have

  • Bi-lingual (English, French).
  • Experience in a Head Office support or Training role working with advisors, front or back-office experience with Fee Based and Managed Programs
  • Ideal candidate would have background in Dominion Securities Retail branch environment, preferably with a discretionary team (3+ years' experience) including processes, technology, products & services. Familiarity with portfolio management concepts/techniques preferred. OR,
  • Enjoys both technical aspects of investment management and the systems that support it and working with many different people on an ongoing basis.
