Early Childhood Educator Daycare Department About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our daycare team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and developing our young students in a positive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact positively with children, parents, and other Educators.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Follow policies and procedures outlined in our handbook.
  • Assist children with personal care needs, such as feeding, diapering, and dressing.
  • Assess and assist children in reaching developmental milestones.
  • Create program plans and submit them to the Daycare Manager for approval.
  • Set up rooms and prepare for activities.
  • Role model appropriate behaviors.
  • Provide program lessons and submit lists of required supplies.
  • Follow cleaning and sanitation schedules to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Maintain rooms, equipment, and materials in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure children are signed in and out daily.
  • Complete required forms.
  • Participate in training and team-building opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of lesson plans with the board members.
  • Provide outdoor play opportunities, weather permitting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
  • Level 1 certification in Early Childhood or achieve within six months of hire.
  • First Aid in Child certification within three months of hire.
  • Willingness to participate in additional training opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Experience working in a First Nations community, including knowledge of First Nations culture, traditions, and values.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector.
  • Valid class 5 Driver's License and Clean Driver's Abstract.
