As a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in processing transactions through the self-service area(s), while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the self-service area(s) is neat, clean, and organized, and free of debris and foreign objects.
- Provide education to customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options.
- Promote company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services and charity initiatives.
- Observe customer activities to determine when assistance is needed.
- Explain the reasons for self-service interventions and quality checks to customers, while reassuring them that these are normal protocols.
- Respond to EAS alarms and fill out the "Failure to Deactivate" Log.
- Notify the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area(s) is low on cash or has a technical issue.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their home after use.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service.
- Knowledge of self-service technology.
