Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Services Support Worker to join our team at the NWT Resource Centre. As a key member of our community services team, you will provide essential support services to individuals in need, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they require.

Key Responsibilities
  • Frontline Support: Provide general reception services, including answering phone calls, delivering messages, and receiving deliveries and donations.
  • Community Services: Distribute food hampers and clothing vouchers, arrange for the disposal of non-monetary donations, and receive, sort, and organize donations or purchased products.
  • Administrative Support: Record statistics, file documents, and manage mail, as well as provide administrative support to leadership staff.
  • Client Support: Provide crisis intervention, assist with seasonal programs, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the food bank.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, staff, and volunteers, ensuring a positive and respectful environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of high school plus additional courses in facilities management or equivalent.
  • Experience: Social service experience, strong computer skills, and ability to learn Salvation Army specific software.
  • Certifications: Current First Aid/CPR certification and clear Criminal Record Check.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in reception or general administrative work.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
