Seeking an Environmental Reclamation Technical Specialist with 10+ years of experience in contaminated sites/reclamation, project management, and technical expertise in environmental consulting.
SynergyAspen is a growing environmental consulting firm that provides exceptional service and value to clients, and meaningful careers to employees. Our areas of expertise include contaminated sites, reclamation, and natural sciences work.
The Environmental Reclamation Technical Specialist will provide specialized technical support to our team, offering solutions to clients' reclamation site challenges. The role also supports SynergyAspen in training and professional development, and research and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review technical reports and provide feedback to report writers.
- Offer technical support to staff for interpreting laws and regulations.
- Develop reclamation plans, including environmental applications and generating contracts.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of work plans and cost estimates.
- Secure federal and provincial environmental approvals and certifications.
- Conduct on-site evaluations and analysis of environmental conditions.
- Evaluate and monitor reclamation projects, supervising contractors and field personnel.
- Enhance operational efficiency by updating and creating technical POPs.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes across provinces, territories, and federal levels.
- Provide project management support as needed.
- Conduct technical training sessions on various topics.
- Assist junior and intermediate staff with questions and guidance.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant contaminated sites/reclamation experience in environmental consulting in BC.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Technical diploma or degree in a related discipline.
- Recognized accredited professional designation (e.g., P.Eng, P.Geo, P.Chem, P.Ag. etc.) recognized in BC.
- Knowledge of and experience with environmental standards, and regulations or guidelines and federal and provincial regulations.
- Experience in landowner and stakeholder consultations/communications.
- Experience managing a team, providing training and mentorship to juniors.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety.
