About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resident Engagement Assistant to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a key member of our community, you will play a critical role in promoting a dynamic culture that encourages resident wellbeing, choice, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Resident Wellbeing and Engagement
    • Develop and implement programs that align with our community's guidelines and brand standards
    • Collaborate with our Recreation and Events Manager to develop and pilot new innovative resident experiences and programs
    • Leverage technology to enhance and promote in-suite and group programming within the community
  • Support the Volunteer Program
    • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, including student interns, to support resident engagement initiatives
    • Work closely with our Recreation and Events Manager to identify opportunities for volunteer engagement and development
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with our organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
    • Participate in regular health and safety training and drills
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Degree or diploma in Gerontology, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Health Promotion, or Health Sciences
    • Minimum 2 years of experience working with seniors, including experience in program development and implementation
  • Skills and Certifications
    • Certified to teach land group fitness and aquatic fitness to seniors through a reputable organization
    • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
    • Current certificate in CPR and First Aid
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel
