Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at the Provincial Assessment Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor clients and observe their behaviors and symptoms, documenting observations in accordance with standard procedures.
- Participate in the admission, case planning, and discharge process for clients, including conducting interviews and gathering relevant information.
- Establish rapport with clients and provide emotional support and counseling, assisting with problem-solving and daily living activities.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including time management, organization, and interpersonal communication.
- Coordinate services with medical professionals and community resources, acting as an advocate for clients and providing information on available services.
- Plan and lead groups, such as sports and exercise, social support groups, and social activities, depending on client needs.
- Maintain client charts and perform administrative tasks, including updating client databases and completing standard forms.
- Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker educational program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid B.C. driver's license and ability to use a personal vehicle for local area travel.
