The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, operating the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores. The LDB is committed to improving services and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations.
The LDB Wholesale Operations team is responsible for the registration, procurement, customs clearance, selling, and distribution of liquor products for the province of British Columbia. Our stakeholders comprise approximately 1200 agent & suppliers, over 800 retail outlets, and 9000 licensed establishments.
About this role:
The Assistant Supervisor provides assistance in attaining efficient operation of the distribution department as assigned. This includes assisting in the supervision and assignment of resources to optimize the operation, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, LDB internal policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the supervision and assignment of resources to optimize the operation
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, LDB internal policies, and procedures
- Provide a seamless customer experience
- Operate a variety of mechanical and hand-operated equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet movers
- Lift liquor cases up to 50lbs. to varying heights and perform warehouse duties
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel applications
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a warehouse environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent supervisor experience assigning, monitoring, and examining work of employees
- Experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
