Environmental Health Officer Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join our team in Delta, BC. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining a high standard of public health, environmental conditions, and environmental control standards. Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing applicable regulations and by-laws, identifying factors detrimental to community and environmental health, and carrying out a wide variety of public health and environmental control inspectional duties. You will also facilitate community engagement and community capacity building to promote positive change in the environment and population health. Responsibilities • Investigate complaints on public health-related problems and environmental control matters • Inspect various types of food processing and food handling establishments, business premises, and buildings to ensure conformance with applicable regulations and standards • Perform inspectional, regulatory, and enforcement duties on water quality, including drinking, recreational, and waste water • Conduct epidemiological investigations into food-borne illness outbreaks, communicable diseases, and epidemics of waterborne and zoonotic diseases • Participate in pest management control and continuous quality improvement/quality assurance activities • Prepare reports on investigational and inspectional work performed and provide consultation, education, and technical support to clients Qualifications • Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Health degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) granted by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) • Valid BC Class V Driver's License and possession of a personal vehicle • Ability to analyze and interpret test and inspection results, communicate effectively, and establish effective working relationships with others About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a rapidly growing organization with a team of over 45,000 staff, medical staff, and volunteers dedicated to serving our patients, families, and communities.
