As a key member of our Vacuum Truck Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vacuum equipment, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial setting, adhering to company policies and procedures as well as on-site requirements.

  • Provide exceptional service to all clients and professionally represent GFL Environmental, ensuring a positive experience for our customers.

  • Complete daily equipment pre-trips and driver logs required for NSC compliance, maintaining accurate and detailed records.

  • Maintain company documentation to accompany work performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance, adhering to industry standards and best practices.

  • Participate in safety programs, including safety meetings, near miss reporting, and job hazard assessments, to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Work independently, managing time and productivity, and communicating effectively with colleagues and clients.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of industrial vacuum truck and/or hydro excavating experience, preferably with a combo unit.

  • Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Drivers Abstract.

  • Ability to operate manual transmission.

  • Valid safety tickets, such as First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and H2S Alive, are considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Safety-focused attitude, with experience working in an industrial setting and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Knowledge to perform minor maintenance on units to maintain efficient operation, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

  • Cleanliness and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Good physical health and physical condition, with the ability to perform duties assigned.

  • Ability to accept after-hour calls when necessary, and willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
