The Role

We believe that small, collaborative, and cross-functional teams are best equipped to achieve the most optimal project outcomes. Within these teams, Front-End Engineers bring our work to life, shipping digital products and brand experiences of the highest caliber.

As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you'll lead the planning and development of web and mobile sites, digital products, and design systems, working in collaboration with our Strategy and Design team to deliver exceptional work. Within our Engineering group, you will help define the right approach to implementing highly functional, and high-performance interfaces and modular layouts, blending best practices with the latest tools, technologies, and trends in the field of UI development.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in an agency or consultancy environment, developing large scale and complex solutions, with a focus on innovative and intuitive front-end user experiences, and high standards for flawless code.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the planning, development, testing, and delivery/deployment of solid, structured, and standards-compliant web and mobile interfaces
  • Understand our clients' business, their needs, and the technical opportunities and challenges that exist within their categories
  • Participate in project ideation sessions, workshops, and roadmapping, collaborating in strategic planning that drives innovation from a development perspective
  • Work with the project team to define clear goals and requirements, and provide input towards practical solutions, innovations, and estimation of effort and time
  • Write, test, refactor, and optimize code to achieve high benchmarks for performance, and strive to make quality assurance a top priority
  • Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and patterns, and support the development of standards and processes that contribute to an environment of continual improvement
  • Manage, lead, and mentor engineering colleagues, and oversee code reviews

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years experience prototyping and building web and mobile experiences
  • A portfolio of work that shows an ability to develop against detailed design specifications
  • Experience working in agile teams, participating in scoping, estimating, and road-mapping of development efforts
  • Deep experience with dev tools like Git, Tailwind, Webpack/Vite, Figma, Netlify/Vercel
  • Deep experience with CSS and JavaScript (ES6, Typescript, ReactJS, ), and building out extensible and modular design systems
  • Experience implementing traditional and headless CMS (Sanity, Contentful, Craft) with front-end meta frameworks , )
  • Experience implementing e-commerce platforms including Shopify and BigCommerce
  • Experience building to usability and accessibility standards through testing and optimization
  • Experience with web performance and optimization techniques and implementing analytics tools, tags. and event tracking from spec

This is a remote position in Canada with a preference for candidates in Toronto. International applicants will not be considered at this time.
