Job Summary

The Transportation Training and Development Manager is responsible for leading a team of training officers and collaborating with campus teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality training programs. The incumbent will oversee the implementation of training initiatives, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main ResponsibilitiesTraining Program Management

· Develop and implement training schedules and coordinate with field operations and campus teams

· Gather information from internal and external sources, including regulatory bodies, to ensure training programs are up-to-date and accurate

· Ensure training officers are available to support the delivery of all training programs and initiatives

· Handle issues that arise during training and monitor the progress of training officers

· Evaluate and document performance to ensure the quality and accuracy of training programs

· Provide training support to external customers of CN

· Prepare and present compliance reports and updates to senior managers

Communication and Collaboration

· Assess needs coming from field operations and training teams

· Communicate with students regarding issues and relay information to field operations and training teams

· Act as the principal liaison between campus and field operations

Project Management

· Work with vendors and internal subject matter experts to develop new curriculum and modify programs as needed

· Assist vendors in providing required information to produce desired results

· Produce and present business cases for new programs upon request

Working Conditions

The role has irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The incumbent will work in a combination of office and outdoor environments, with regular travel within Canada to deliver training programs.

Requirements

· 1-3 years of project management experience

· Experience with behavior-based safety training

· Experience in people management and operations within CN Transportation

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid driver's license

· Conductor certification

· Locomotive engineer and/or remote control operator certification
