Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. This includes independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments, including medications and therapies
  • Lead and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and outcomes
  • Coordinate patient care and discharge, including communication with families and other healthcare providers
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
  • Current CRNM registration
  • Post-graduate course in I.C.U. Nursing or equivalent I.C.U. experience
  • Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration
Qualifications and Skills
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands
  • Ability to perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team
