Senior Analyst, Reinsurance

We're seeking a Senior Analyst, Reinsurance to perform accounting and reporting functions, including financial statement preparation and submission to internal and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have a University degree in business/accounting, professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA), and a minimum of 2 years of reinsurance accounting experience. They will have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with others and connect with customers.

  • Analyze and set up reinsurance accounting processes for new and modified businesses, including setting up new and renewing treaties in the financial accounting system.
  • Review, reconcile, and post client premiums, claims, and commissions bordereaux, performing accounting journal entries to record the financial impacts of reinsurance agreements.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and regulatory reports/schedules, and timely filing to the regulator.
  • Reconcile statements of receivables and payable to reinsurers/cedants, outstanding losses, premium reserves held, claim reserves held, and open account.
  • Analyze and process reinsurance billings, investigate discrepancies to clear aged accounts receivable and payable, and prepare trend analysis on proportional treaties.
  • Take part in cross-training other analysts in the Reinsurance team, participate in reinsurance projects, and provide back-up support in the absence of other team members.
