Job Title: Manager, Planning and Inventory Management

About the Role:

The Manager, Planning and Inventory Management is a key position responsible for driving financial performance and inventory productivity. This role will partner with the Category Manager to develop category strategies, create merchandise financial plans, and support assortment plans to meet/exceed sales, margin, and inventory turn targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies based on customer feedback/preferences to achieve financial goals and business objectives
  • Partner with Category Manager to develop conceptual assortment plans and reconcile assortment plans against financial goals
  • Provide in-depth analysis of product performance and make recommendations to maximize business opportunities
  • Manage and maintain OTB, allocations, and inputs into the forecasting and replenishment systems
  • Partner with Category Manager to manage open-to-buy/business performance in-season to maximize sales opportunities
  • Support the Category Manager to collaborate with Store Design and Visual Merchandising on space planning
  • Develop merchandise financial/store plans and open-to-buy
  • Manage overall markdown process to ensure smooth launch/exit of inventory
  • Develop and execute financial/assortment analytics and reporting
  • Understand the impact to Indigo of changing external environmental factors
  • Develop replenishment budget
  • Work with Category Manager to develop allocation strategy by determining allocation and in-season readiness to monitor/manage allocation/replenishment performance
  • Communicate with and support stores and DCs
  • Accountable for managing Replenishment
  • Support the creation of the Store/location plans during MFP process
  • Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Retail experience or equivalent business-related experience
  • 2+ years of experience as Manager of a team
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Economics or equivalent

Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze and utilize financial measurements including sales, gross margin, receipt flow, OTB, etc. to impact the business
  • SAP or mass data experience
  • Ability to learn new technical applications and tools quickly
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to build and maintain productive and cohesive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to "sell" ideas and influence senior management, peers, direct reports and cross-functional/business matrix
  • Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
