Senior SupervisorJob Overview:
Oversee the general day to day operations of the restaurant including environment cleanliness, staffing levels, guest management, inventory management and employee training/coaching

Reports To:
District Team Leader and Executive Management Team

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:
Oversee the work of servers, hosts, and other staff, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient performance. Manage pre-shift arrangements and coordinate staff breaks smoothly during service.

Customer Service:
Monitor dining area to ensure customer satisfaction, address complaints, and create a positive dining experience for patrons.

Quality Control:
Check dishes before service for compliance with the restaurant's standards and address any discrepancies.

Inventory and Stock Management:
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring levels, and ensuring sufficient stock for dining area. Handle requisitions appropriately.

Staff Training:
Train new employees and conduct ongoing training for existing staff on procedures, customer service skills, and safety protocols.

Enforcing Health and Safety Standards:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting proper hygiene practices and safety protocols.

Shift Scheduling:
Handle employee scheduling using Push to ensure coverage during peak periods, accommodating vacations or sick leaves.

Handling Cash and Payments:
Manage cash registers, process payments, and ensure accurate accounting of sales.

Handling Reservations and Event Planning:
Manage reservations and organize special events or parties, as required.

Problem Solving:
Address various service challenges, including customer issues, staff conflicts, and equipment malfunctions.

Maintaining Cleanliness:
Ensure the restaurant is clean and well-maintained, including both dining and kitchen areas.

Monitoring Compliance:
Ensure adherence to restaurant policies, rules, and procedures.

Reporting and Communication:
Provide regular reports to management and communicate essential information to staff

Day :

  • 10:00

AM:
Open restaurant.

AM:
Conduct a thorough walkthrough to ensure the restaurant was properly closed the previous night.
10:20
AM:
Consolidate the previous night's cash, respond to emails, and handle administrative tasks.
10:45
AM:
Review inventory and place orders as needed.
11:00
AM:
Brief team members arriving for their shift, discussing specials and any pertinent updates.

4:00 PM:
Coaching Time - Select one employee for a 15-minute coaching session.

Discuss their performance, identify areas for improvement, and share techniques and motivation to enhance their confidence and skills for the next day.


Throughout the Day:
Oversee operations, assist staff, engage with customers, and ensure smooth service.

Closing:
Supervise cleaning, prepare for the next day, and close the restaurant

Night :

5:00 PM:
Arrive and review notes from the day manager. Conduct a walkthrough to check readiness for evening service.

5:30 PM:
Brief evening staff on specials, reservations, and any specific instructions for the night.

  • 6:00

PM :
Manage floor operations, ensure customer satisfaction, and address any issues.

  • 10:00

PM :
Coaching Time - Select one employee for a 15-minute coaching session.

Discuss their performance, identify areas for improvement, and share techniques and motivation to enhance their confidence and skills for the next day.

Post-
Closing:
Oversee cleaning, finalize cash counts, check inventory, fill out the Night Log report and send it to the corporation management and secure the restaurant

QualificationsEssential:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a restaurant of similar caliber
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Strength in training, developing, coaching and disciplining of the team.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations

Serving it Right certification Desirable:

  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and Japanese cuisine
  • Strength in sales philosophy
  • Drivers license
