Grocery Purchaser
The Grocery Purchaser is responsible for placing orders with our suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels for customers. As part of our largest and most diverse department, our Grocery Team Members are passionate about local, organic, and sustainable food. You will help customers choose products that work best for their health and lifestyle, and you are eager to learn and try new products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Place orders with suppliers to maintain stock levels
- Assist customers with product questions and provide suggestions
- Create purchase orders, order schedules, and item movement reports
- Manage store displays and maintain a visually appealing store environment
- Anticipate ordering needs for sales and promotions
- Understand and follow buy-in dates
- Handle problems with ease, such as supplier out of stocks or errors in shipping
- Work with the team to stock shelves and maintain a clean store environment
- Learn about new and featured products through Nature's Fare's flyers and magazines
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous experience in purchasing is an asset but not required
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
- A passion for local, organic, and sustainable food and natural supplements
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and desire to contribute to people's health and well-being
- Ability to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment
