About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Grocery Store Cashier to join our team at SRF Grocery Store Ltd. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Cash Register: Accurately process customer transactions and handle cash, credit card payments, and other forms of payment.
  • Scan Items: Effectively scan products using a barcode scanner to ensure accurate pricing and inventory management.
  • Receive Payment: Collect payment from customers and provide change as needed.
  • Calculate Daily/Shift Payments: Reconcile daily or shift payments received with total sales to ensure accuracy.
  • Suggestive Selling: Offer customers suggestions on products and promotions to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Stock Shelves and Clean Counter Area: Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves and cleaning the counter area.
  • Greet Customers: Provide a warm and welcoming greeting to customers as they enter the store.
  • Wrap or Place Merchandise in Bags: Efficiently package customer purchases for easy carry-out.
  • Weigh Produce and Bulk Foods: Accurately weigh produce and bulk foods for customers.
  • Assist Customers with Self-Checkout: Provide assistance to customers using the self-checkout system.
  • Monitor Entrances and Exits: Ensure all entrances and exits are secure and monitor customer activity as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a 30-40 hour workweek. The work language is English.
