Overview

Modern Niagara is seeking a highly skilled Network Systems Integration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the configuration and integration of network systems, ensuring efficient subnetting, routing, and VLAN strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network System Configuration: Configure and integrate network systems, including subnetting, routing, and VLAN strategies, to ensure efficient network performance.
  • Network Hardware Deployment: Deploy configurations across diverse network hardware, optimizing performance from small office/home office (SOHO) to enterprise-class devices.
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS) Integration: Address unique networking requirements of Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and IT professionals to build strong relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor BAS technicians with IT aptitude and adapt to project-specific challenges to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Network Security and Redundancy: Configure VPNs, email servers/accounts, and adhere to IT/network security best practices to ensure network and server redundancy options and best practices are implemented.

Qualifications

  • Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline in IT.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in the same field.
  • Certifications: Certifications in Windows, networking, and security would be advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficiency in BACnet, PC & IP Protocol, Cisco networking technologies, including CCA and CCMP, VLAN configuration, PLC building automation systems, and BACnet over IP.
  • Knowledge: Expert knowledge in cable routing techniques and best practices, deploying configurations across diverse network hardware, and optimizing performance.
  • Communication: Effective communicator with strong rapport-building skills, able to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and IT professionals.
  • Security: Specialized in network security practices, including securing networks and implementing BGP routing.
