**Senior Technician - Security** **Job Summary:** Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to complete security system installations, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide expert guidance to clients.

As a Senior Technician - Security with Paladin Technologies, you will review, understand, analyze, and implement installation blueprints and plans to complete installations. This role requires the ability to properly complete installations, understand and follow the bill of materials (BOM), and make adjustments or find alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.

We expect all employees to represent Paladin in a professional manner in line with our values of a leadership mindset, people development, team, and client-focused. Though based in Vancouver, you may be required to travel to job sites throughout the region.

**Responsibilities:** * **Install and Commission Security Systems:** * Install, program, configure security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and fence detection systems, in accordance with industry standards and client specifications. * Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure the continued functionality and reliability of security systems. * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly. * **Client Collaboration and Support:** * Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs, provide expert guidance, and offer solutions tailored to their requirements. * Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through effective communication and professionalism. * Train clients and end-users on the operation of security systems to maximize their effectiveness and ease of use. * **Documentation and Reporting:** * Maintain accurate records (documentation) of system installations, maintenance activities, and repairs. * Prepare, create, and execute detailed reports and acceptance test plans to meet service level agreements (SLAs), contracts for clients, and internal use. * **Professional Development:** * Stay up-to-date with advancements in security technology, regulations, and industry best practices. * Continuously improve your technical skills through training and certifications. * **Safety and Compliance:** * Adhere to all safety regulations and compliance standards related to security systems installation and maintenance. * **Administrative Duties:** * Complete and file all project documentation. * Provide project updates to project managers. * **Additional Responsibilities:** * Be available for on-call duties before or after regular working hours, or on days not regularly scheduled to work. * Utilize expertise and experience to serve as a mentor to colleagues, offering guidance in testing, fine-tuning, and optimizing equipment for peak operational efficiency. **Qualifications:** * **Technical Experience:** * Progressive experience in a technical role within the integrated security or low-voltage industry(s) is required. * Previous experience leading installations at the site level is preferred. * **Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:** * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * **Tools and Equipment:** * Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment. * **Programming Experience:** * Programming experience is preferred for senior positions. * **Vendor Certification:** * Vendor certification in low-voltage systems is preferred (e.g., LENEL, GENETEC, MILESTONE, AVIGILON, AMAG, Keyscan, Kantech, SENSTAR, HANWHA, BOSCH, DSC, and others). * **Certifications:** * Valid TQ certification is preferred. * **Communication and Interpersonal Skills:** * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * **Driver's License and Abstract:** * Valid driver's license and clean abstract. * **Education:** * Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent is considered an asset. **About Paladin Technologies:** Paladin Technologies is a premier North American complex systems integrator for building technology solutions, including IP security, alarms & monitoring, audio visual, low-voltage infrastructure, and networking.
