Job Summary

The Healthcare Recruitment Specialist is accountable to the Manager to lead local physician recruitment and retention by providing strategic cross-functional advice, analysis, support, and resolution on a range of physician recruitment and retention matters locally, provincially, and nationally to minimize the risk of service disruptions in communities throughout the province.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diverse expertise and leadership to medical Provincial Department Heads, Area Chiefs of Staff, Area Department Leads, Area Division Leads, Division Heads, operational leaders, primarily Executive Directors and Directors of varied departments and service lines as well as individual physicians to improve operations, achieve goals, and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with area and provincial department colleagues, Physician leadership, SHA service lines and operational leadership (SLT/Directors), internal and external legal, Ministry of Health, SHA Workforce Planning and Employment Strategies, Labour Relations, Finance and Real Estate, College of Medicine, the Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA), College of Physicians & Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), Hospital and Community Foundations, external community partners, medical clinics, Physicians, medical residents/learners, physician applicants, and the Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment and retention strategies to meet the needs of the healthcare system.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address recruitment and retention challenges.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to physicians and other healthcare professionals to improve their skills and performance.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in healthcare administration in progressive positions.
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Experience in contract management and/or working with Physicians is an asset.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
  • Bachelor of Commerce (BComm).
  • Business Administration diploma (DBA).
  • Human Resources diploma.

Licenses:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
