Project Manager for Anti-Money Laundering IT team required to lead projects, apply Agile processes, resolve impediments, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement.

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) IT team at Global Functions Technology (GFT), part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. This individual will play a key role in supporting transformation initiatives, project delivery, and driving the culture and behaviors needed to succeed with a client-centric approach.

The successful candidate will lead projects and apply Agile processes, resolve impediments, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement for AML IT teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering initiatives using Agile and Iterative Waterfall, communicating cross-functionally, and ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes.
  • Removing impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges.
  • Continuously seeking to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues.
  • Developing and managing the detailed schedule, identifying early warning indicators, providing direction for early resolution of risks, issues, and clear escalation path for program committees.
  • Overseeing financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and tracks value for effective decision-making.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners, including vendors, RBC IT teams, and business partners.
  • Building and presenting reporting for management-level presentations and ensuring the completion of risk assessments and the identification and execution of contingency plans.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Technology, or Financial Services with 3+ years of Project Management and/or Senior-level Scrum Master experience, including both Waterfall and Agile project management.
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management workflows, including milestones, critical paths, product, and sprint backlogs, with proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
  • Knowledge of change management and risk management, with a working knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Nice-to-have qualifications include:

  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • CSM - Certified Scrum Master Certification.
