About the role :
Join the Corporate Services team in the Senior Specialist, Operational Oversight - Network and Telecom position. In this role, you will be responsible for providing oversight and quality assurance to the day-to-day performance and optimization of the IT infrastructure management provided by outsourcing partners across various technology areas (e.g., network, servers, applications, security, and storage) while safeguarding the interests of CMHC. As a technical subject matter expert, you will also be overseeing application product delivery, cloud management and optimization by the third-party providers.
This is a temporary position for a duration of 12 months.
What you'll do:
- Oversee large-scale application changes (upgrades, enhancements, retirements, integration) and monitor the implementation of corrective measures by third party providers.
- Ensure the recommended infrastructure, network and applications (selected, modified and/or developed) comply with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
- Ensure the correct processes and procedures are followed when acquiring, maintaining, installing or deploying applications, by CMHC or third-party providers.
- Oversee infrastructure, network and application issues with third party providers, IT teams and business lines.
- Manage the establishment of priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of CMHC's infrastructure systems and networks, including reviewing reports, strategies and plans to maintain infrastructure and network healthy.
- Develop and update corporate standards for applications to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-partner platforms throughout CMHC.
- Monitor the services delivered by third party providers in consultation with the IT Partner Relationship Management team.
- Keep abreast with industry-leading practices and guidelines with IT infrastructures and networks.
What you should have:
- A bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or in a related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of increasing responsibilities and relevant work experience in overseeing IT infrastructure, networks and applications.
- Demonstrated work experience in overseeing the work of several IT third party providers.
- Demonstrated work experience and skills in conducting business and IT requirement analysis.
- A sound knowledge of IT service delivery life cycle (incident, problem and change management).
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational skills, including an ability to manage several ongoing and competing tasks and/or projects.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical information or project status to senior management, business units, colleagues or third-party providers.
It would be great if you also had:
- A Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
- Professional designation in Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Cloud Platform or other relevant licence, designation, or certificate.
- A demonstrated experience in monitoring or overseeing large scale IT programs and/or projects.
