We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit at Fraser Health Authority. As a specialty-qualified critical care registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of care.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient-centered care.
- Patient Education and Advocacy: Provide education and support to patients and families, advocate for patients' rights and needs, and promote patient autonomy and dignity.
- Quality Improvement and Research: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, collect data, and contribute to research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Leadership and Professional Development: Act as a preceptor and mentor to nursing staff, participate in educational programs, and engage in self-directed learning to maintain and enhance clinical competency.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A graduate degree in nursing from an approved school of nursing
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Completion of Critical Care Level 2 course and one year's Cardiac Surgery experience or two years' recent experience in critical care in an acute care facility and one year recent Cardiac Surgery experience
- Current Basic Rescuer Certificate
