As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for processing medication orders, preparing and dispensing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records. Key Responsibilities • Process clinically reviewed and approved medication orders for distribution to patients, clients, or residents • Receive prescriptions from practitioners and verify their completeness and authenticity • Prepare and process prescriptions by entering orders, counting, measuring, packaging, or re-packaging medications and compounding sterile pharmaceutical products • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions prepared by self or others • Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence • Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the pharmacy information system • Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies • Maintain accurate records, including medication verification and quality assurance checks • Distribute medications and maintain relevant inventory, wardstock, and narcotic records • Maintain department work areas and stock pharmaceuticals, labels, containers, and glassware according to established procedures and standards • Perform related clerical duties, such as keyboarding, answering telephone, filing, and maintaining medication and prescription records Qualifications • Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to deal with others effectively • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position • Ability to keyboard • Ability to organize work • Ability to operate related equipment About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, serving over two million people.
