What You'll Do

The AJ Distribution Center is a fully operational facility within the CTR family of companies. The building has been operational for 30+ years and is continually undergoing process improvements. The building ships product to all CTC stores within Canada. This team's mandate is to ship product on time to stores at the lowest cost, while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Scope of work includes reporting & analysis, data visualization, end-user tool development The successful individual will have exposure to Receiving, Production and Shipping processes.

Reporting to the Director, Operations, the successful incumbent will:

  • Develop, maintain, and support databases and reports to enable daily Production activities.
  • Perform data analysis to generate operational and ad-hoc reporting to determine or support business decisions.
  • Identify, document, and implement business opportunities that contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and decision making within the team and the AJ Billes Distribution Centre.
  • Carry out detailed root cause analysis and investigation on various Distribution Centre processes, functions, and material handling systems.
  • Develop business requirements, business cases and cost benefit analyses for assigned projects.
  • Develop and design new business and systems processes.
  • Provide support to develop divisional and departmental plans and strategies.
  • Develop and deliver communication within change management methodology to key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain documentation and schedules for initiatives.
  • Provide project status updates and informal updates on an as needed basis to stakeholder groups.
  • Participate in initiatives that contribute to the development of new Resource placement strategies and coordinate and support their rollout.
  • Upgrade, automate, and/or improve existing reporting and analytic tools as needed.
  • Work with IT and the Operations Planning team to address requirements of the team.
  • Support the development of annual budgeting requirements by providing analytical support and coordinating efforts and provide analytical insights into processes improvement opportunities that will assist in the development of annual plans and strategic outlooks.

What you bring

  • Strong MS Access and VBA skills - Additional programming languages and Database knowledge an asset
  • Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, charts)
  • Power BI development experience an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with PPA and EDW tables
  • Self-directed with good time management skills
  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related experience
  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain processes (3 to 4 years' experience)
  • Understanding of Project Management methodology
  • Demonstrated planning, report writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with labour and process measurement techniques.
  • Experience in the execution of business case investigations and problem-solving processes, systems, and workflow.
  • Experience in CTC Distribution operations, systems and processes, and material handling systems.
