Server Position at Cineplex Entertainment

About the Role

The Server will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, serving guests in a professional and courteous manner, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure accurate execution
  • Maintain familiarity with menu items and daily specials
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
  • Clean designated areas, including tables, floors, and restrooms
  • Change table linen and ensure dirty or damaged linen is not used
  • Clean and refill condiment sets for each table
  • Ensure table decorations are clean and comply with company standards
  • Set tables to company policy, ensuring all items are clean and in good condition
  • Ensure storerooms are adequately stocked with replacement items
  • Clean tables and ensure they are cleaned as soon as guests have finished eating
  • Ensure guests are correctly charged and take payment in accordance with company procedures
  • Attend to guest complaints and provide a positive experience
  • Participate in fire and evacuation drills and ensure familiarity with all exits
  • Carry out on-the-job training to ensure subordinate staff can perform duties effectively
  • Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress
  • Ensure subordinate staff adhere to and maintain the highest possible standards of personal hygiene and dress
  • Attend meetings and training courses as required
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
  • Follow Health, Food Safe, and Liquor service guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong service experience with a focus on engaging guests
  • 1-3 years of restaurant service experience considered an asset
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
  • Professional appearance and manners
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Working Conditions
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Overtime as required
  • Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required
