Property Valuation Services Corporation's Board of Directors is recruiting its next innovative leader to serve as the organization's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Property Valuation Services Corporation (PVSC) is an award-winning, independent, municipally funded, assessment authority. They deliver trusted information and expertise that helps municipalities and property owners strengthen decisions about how to build, grow and sustain communities. Municipal governments set their annual tax rates based on the assessed values of residential and commercial properties in their jurisdictions. As of January 2024, the value of Nova Scotia's assessment role was $173.6 billion across 49 municipalities.

Governed by a Board of Directors and operated in accordance with the Property Valuation Services Corporation Act and the Nova Scotia Assessment Act, PVSC follows standards for mass appraisals set by the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). PVSC has been at the forefront of strengthening mass appraisal practices globally for almost two decades. They combine assessment expertise and experience, with the analytical power of innovative technologies including digitalization, machine learning and artificial intelligence. PVSC thrives on a culture of passion, curiosity, adaptability, and the pursuit of continuous improvement. PVSC is a remote-first organization with employees living in and working from home offices in 50 communities in Nova Scotia.

The ideal candidate for CEO is a highly engaged, passionate, and progressive leader with a general understanding of the valuation of property and land assets and the ability to lead through change and foster innovation. They are an exceptional communicator and have an innate ability to cultivate and nurture critical relationships at the local, provincial, and international level. This leader is adept at fostering a collaborative culture where teams are empowered and inspired to achieve operational excellence. With sound judgment and an exceptional ability to lead through change, they achieve stakeholder alignment within a diverse and complex environment.

They are an accomplished, progressive executive and innovative leader with at least 10 years of experience leading in multi-stakeholder organizations. They are well-versed in policy, governance, and possess solid financial acumen. The preferred candidate is savvy in their ability to navigate public sector relationships, paired with a pragmatic, entrepreneurial spirit to encourage innovation and experimentation. The CEO has demonstrated experience and values the central role that technology can play in transforming organizational outcomes.
