**Child Care Support Worker**

**Summary:** We are seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Child Care Support Worker, providing a safe and engaging environment for children and their families.

Are you passionate about enriching the lives of children? Do you enjoy planning and creating inclusive environments? As a Child Care Support Worker with the YMCA Southwestern New Brunswick, you will collaborate with your team to create and follow individual program plans for children, while interacting and forming relationships with all individuals in the program.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Understand and comply with the New Brunswick Child Care facilities standards and Abuse Protocol Practices.
  • Plan and implement programming in accordance with the YMCA and New Brunswick standards.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to children's learning and be responsive to research and practices to foster inclusion.
  • Understand each child and their family's specific needs and plan for successful outcomes.
  • Ensure that all daily routines are followed, documented and completed promptly.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the YMCA Southwestern New Brunswick employee and child care policy manuals.
  • Participate in quarterly training sessions to continue ongoing learning and develop new skills.

**Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Minimum of 1-year experience working as a support in Child Care.
  • Early Childhood Education Certificate/Diploma, Human Service Counsellor Certificate, Educational Assistant Certificate or related studies would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the New Brunswick Curriculum Framework and/or Play to Learn is an asset.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain.
