Resource Blade Technician II

This job requires a remote resource technician to travel 100% of the time, working variable schedules and overtime, to support wind turbine maintenance and installation across North America.
Job Description:
This position is a key part of the operations department, supporting service sites and construction projects with technicians and field support personnel. The resource department provides trained and qualified technicians as well as contractor personnel to operations service and construction.
Responsibilities:
- Travel 100% of the time, working variable schedules and overtime as needed to meet business goals
- Act as a safety role model, encouraging and recognizing safe acts and intervening when unsafe acts are being practiced
- Demonstrate and promote integrity, solid initiative, and a no-compromise focus on safety and quality of work
- Perform skilled level blade composite maintenance and intermediate level wind turbine maintenance or installation tasks as assigned
- Effectively gather information regarding turbine performance/issues, diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions up to intermediate routine issues
- Follow basic structured problem-solving process to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks
- Effectively promote a healthy team environment through assisting teammates in accomplishing goals and mentoring lower level technical staff
- Interface with customers and respond to customer inquiries, referring complex inquiries to higher level technical staff or manager
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Post high school education and two years wind industry experience, preferred
- Proven use and understanding of intermediate level power tools and diagnostic tools
- Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices/protocols
- Composite experience and rope access experience, preferred
- Valid Driver's License and Passport
- Skilled attention to detail and execution performance, good interpersonal and customer relation skills
Competencies:
- Willingness to promote Vestas' commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs, and stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods
- Ability to participate in and complete all training courses, including high-angle rescue and training
