Automation Engineer Automation Engineer

Join our team as an Automation Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge automation technologies for self-driving labs.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and prototype new automation technologies to improve lab efficiency and accuracy.
  • Enhance hardware/software modules to ensure reliability and flexibility in automated chemical synthesis and analysis systems.
  • Collaborate with chemists and engineers to integrate automation into workflows and optimize lab processes.
  • Develop and test experimental protocols for new technologies and automation systems.
  • Integrate automation systems with existing lab equipment to streamline workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain automation platforms, including robotic and analytical systems.
  • Create research presentations with clear data visualizations to communicate results effectively.
  • Work with computer science teams on data and visualization to drive innovation.
  • Assist in preparing grant proposals and manuscripts to secure funding and publish research.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation Engineering, Chemistry, or similar field.
  • Advanced degree preferred for senior roles.
  • 4+ years of experience in automation design and implementation, preferably in a lab setting.
  • Proficient in Python, API integration, and code debugging to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Skilled with CAD software like SolidWorks or Fusion 360 for design and prototyping.
  • Strong electronics and lab equipment troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Familiar with UPLC/HPLC instruments and chromatography data systems to optimize lab workflows.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
