General Merchandise Associate

Join Walmart Canada as a General Merchandise Associate and develop your skills in the retail industry. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working in customer service or retail and want to make a difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting with product location and purchase decisions, and resolving customer issues.
  • Cover assigned areas on the sales floor, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Zone assigned areas, move feature merchandise to its modular home, and work recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk.
  • Assist with Front End coverage, communicate with other associates to ensure floor coverage, and contribute to a safe and hazard-free work environment.
  • Stock merchandise, downstock if applicable, apply product protection when required, and set and complete modulars.
Compensation:

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $17.55 per hour, with opportunities for growth and advancement based on relevant experience.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
