Rehabilitation Assistant Join our team at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, B.C. as a Rehabilitation Assistant and be part of a dedicated team of health care providers in a dynamic and rewarding role. **About the Role** As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will work under the direction of a professional nurse and in cooperation with the interprofessional care team to implement treatment plans and assist in monitoring patient progress. You will carry out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan, observe and report cognitive and functional changes in patient ability or behavior, and provide input into the planning, implementation, modification, and evaluation of the treatment plan. **Responsibilities** • Carry out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan under an assignment of task by a physiotherapist or occupational therapist • Observe and report cognitive and functional changes in patient ability or behavior • Progress treatment plan within the parameters established by the nurse or therapist • Provide input into the planning, implementation, modification, and evaluation of the treatment plan • Perform various tests as assigned by PT or OT, such as Berg Balance, Timed Up and Go (TUG), and six-minute walk test • Prepare and apply therapeutic treatment modalities as assigned by PT or OT • Provide functional skills training to patients and families in activities of daily living, mobility, and communication • Assist with power and manual wheelchair mobility training • Maintain therapy equipment and supplies **Qualifications** • Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to deal with others effectively • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position • Ability to organize work • Ability to operate related equipment **About Fraser Health** Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, serving over two million people.
