About the Role:

Alectra Utilities is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op, Grid Analytics Specialist to join our team. As a Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that will help us improve our grid analytics and data management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scripts in common languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) to automate data extraction, transformation, and analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and Alectra personnel to identify testing requirements and develop automated solutions for efficient and effective software validation.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate the functionality and performance of grid analytics software and tools.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across Alectra to introduce advanced analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Support the continuous improvement of data management processes and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support various Grid Modernization projects.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and power distribution concepts is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data analysis tools/languages such as Python, R, SQL.
  • Familiarity with database management and data visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx).
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
