Responsibilities
  • Provide psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, and crisis counselling to clients and their families.
  • Advocate, educate, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on behalf of individuals and groups.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in work placements.
  • Provide consultation based on advanced education and knowledge of social, structural, emotional, psychological, and cultural factors affecting well-being.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW.
  • Two years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker preferred.
  • BCLS.
  • Strong counselling and communication skills.
  • Capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context.
  • Knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving, and continuum of care.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
Hours of Work
  • Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Approximately an 18-month assignment.
Compensation and Benefits

Healthcare Social Worker (Masters) - $49.05 Hourly.

Developmental Social Worker (Masters) - $36.02 Hourly.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
